In the Pursuit of Beans

I’m disappointed. Our local grocery stores in our small town do not carry whole bean coffee. Not any. Not even one. I ended up settling for Folgers French Roast. It was either Folgers, Maxwell House, store brand or Dunkin’ Donuts. It’ll do… as I said, I’m a coffee junkie not a coffee snob.

Still.

I remember back “then.” Back when I was a teenager and all my dad bought was whole beans and we ground it ourselves for each pot. I remember back in the early days of our marriage when I didn’t think about the costs of whole beans versus ground or this brand against that brand.

I believe my dad bought his beans, or at least the Kona, from a store at the mall. I’m not driving an hour for coffee beans. The last time I bought whole beans I believe I got them at Wal-Mart. Perhaps I will check there the next time I make it to Wal-mart. Whenever that will be.

Or perhaps I will go ahead and buy some online from Gevalia?…Online ordering is, after all, my favorite way to shop. =)
